Americans plan to spend over $452 billion on summer travel this year, with 117 million travelers who anticipate spending $3,861 on average, for trip expenses.

That’s according to a NerdWallet survey, which also found that about 30% of those travelers are still in debt from the trips they took last year.

If you’re headed to Europe, you might be able to avoid the crowds and still get a rewarding experience from some of these lesser-known destinations recommended by the travel site European Best Destinations:

Dhermi, Albania
